Being aware of the importance of continuous social responsibility, today, T-Hrvatski Telekom donated the amount of 108.580 HRK to the Special Hospital for Children's Chronic Diseases Gornja Bistra. Branka Skaramuča, Member of the Management Board and Chief Human Resources Officer of T-HT, handed over the symbolic check to the Head of the Hospital, Mr. Ivan-Željko Weiss, MD. As last year, the funds were raised through an internal auction of awarded photographs shot by employees of the Group, and from the Company's budget. The hospital in Gornja Bistra will use the received funds to procure badly needed equipment and supplies, such as respiratory aids, blood pressure units, mattresses and antidecubital pillows.
„I am proud to say that, for the second time in a row, T-HT employees have understood the importance of supporting the Gornja Bistra Hospital, selflessly participating in the employees' best photo award competition and, after that, in the auction itself . This way we have demonstrated, as a company and as individuals, the sensibility for helping other people and, at the same time, we have confirmed how important Corporate Citizenship is for the Company which, for many years, is supporting numerous institutions and associations dealing with the well-being of children and adolescents. Furthermore, T-HT has made it a tradition to support various valuable social campaigns; the concern for the community in which it is operating is seen as a prerequisite for a better future of the society as a whole“, said Branka Skaramuča, Member of the Management Board and Chief Human Resources Officer of T-HT, while presenting the donation. Also, she pointed out that the funds donated to the Gornja Bistra Hospital jointly by the Company and its employees, will serve to improve the care for the youngest patients many of which „are battling incurable diseases“.
„Thanks to the laudable donation of the T-HT Group and its employees who have been aware of our needs this year as well, we can now proceed with the procurement of necessary equipment and supplies that will enable us to improve medical treatment of our little patients“, said the Head of the Hospital, Mr. Ivan-Željko Weiss, MD, noting that this hospital is the only institution of this kind in Croatia.
Let us remind you that the Special Hospital for Children's Chronic Diseases Gornja Bistra is providing medical treatment to children up to the age of 18. Right now, the Hospital is taking care of more than a hundred children suffering from various diseases: of the central nervous system, of endocrine and metabolic disorders and of other, mainly incurable diseases.
