The device has e – manual in the phone, the charger which uses less energy, minimized packaging and does not contain dangerous chemicals. The device also has Walk Mate™ ecology application which shows to the user how much they can reduce the CO” emission by walking instead of driving a car. Also, with the „green” calculator they can monitor the emission of CO2 created by their life style.
In order to take advantage of all these benefits during the action from May 3 to June 30, 2010, all that customers need to do is bring their used mobile phone and the battery to one of the T points of sale.
With this exclusive offer T-Mobile and Sony Ericsson want to improve ecological awareness of mobile users. If every of 2,86 million T-Mobile customers would recycle only one device, together we would save more than 323 tons of raw materials as all parts of a mobile phone can be used to generate energy or make new products.
This is the fourth T-Mobile action conducted in line with the highest environment protection standards and certificate ISO 14001. T-Mobile holds the ISO 14001 certificate for environment management since 2002 which makes it the only mobile operator in Croatia with this independent certificate of environment protection. Since 2002 T-Mobile has collected and ecologically managed 439 tons of paper, 195 tons of metal waste, 216 tons of electronic waste, 118 tons of batteries and more than 4.200 cartridges.
In 2005, starting the first mobile phone recycling action T-Mobile also became the first mobile operator to organize management of used mobile phones and more than 80,000 collected devices indicate the high ecological awareness of our customers. Collected devices are ecologically managed in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard and other highest environment protection standards in order to avoid any danger to the environment. Customers can also contact us with their suggestions or inquiries about the environment protection on the e-mail address zastita.okolisa@t.ht.hr.
