After five years of continuous support to numerous music, film, theater and street performances, this year T-Com will continue to implement the KulTurist project. In order to popularize and help cultural events in Croatia, T-Com unified its sponsorships of large cultural events under the name KulTurist. In 2010, T-Com will support five cultural events: ZGDox, Pula film festival, Splitsko ljeto, Vukovar film festival and the Ulysses Theater. The main criteria in selection of the projects were that the projects had to be in the field of movie or theater production, they had to be attractive and original.
Vedrana Hercigonja Majetić, Director of the Marketing Communications Department in T-HT presented the project on the todays press conference in the presence of representatives of the Croatian cultural events that are included in the KulTurist project.
«I am exceptionally glad that, for six years now, we continue this beautiful tradition of providing support to cultural project from all over Croatia. By means of the sponsorship program KulTurist we are trying to promote cultrure and art, contribute to increasing th enumber of visitors to cultural events and encourage other companies to invest in the Croatian culture and tourism,“ said Vedrana Hercigonja Majetić presenting the this year's T-Com plans of investment into the Croatian culture.
Through the KulTurist project, T-Com – as the leading provider of telecommunications services in Croatia participates in organization of major cultural events throughout the country and, by doing so, shares a part of its success with the society in which it operates.
T-Com supports all the projects by providing different services that the Company developed and offers on the Croatian market. Thus, the individual festivals will have the media coverage on T-portal, one of the most visited and most popular Internet portals in the country
On the press conference, the festivals was presented by their head persons: Rade Šerbedžija (Kazalište Ulysses), Zlatko Vidačković (Festival igranog filma u Puli), Milan Štrljić (Splitsko ljeto), Igor Rakonić (Vukovar film festival), Nenad Puhovski (ZagrebDox). They announced their expectations for 2010, and Mr. Puhovski shared his impressions of the ZagrebDox festival that already took place.
In presenting this year's program, Milan Štrljić, head of the 56th Splitsko ljeto said:
“Based on a rich foundation built in more than half a century, the 56th Splitsko ljeto will offer an ambitious program that will one more time confirm its position on the European cultural map by the high artistic achievements of its plays, concerts and exhibitions, performances by renowned artists and ensembles. The guiding idea of this year’s program is to use the networking of the Festival to communicate with the world and some of the best theaters and artist, and at the same time to foster the most beautiful aspects of the collective memory of the city.”
The Ulysses Theater will open its tenth anniversary season by a big concert in the Pula Amphitheater called “ODISEJA – the tenth anniversary of the Ulysses Theater”. One of the founders of the Ulysses Theater, actor and director, Rade Šerbedžija said in presenting this year’s plans: “The Ulysses Theater celebrates it tenth anniversary season this year. In the successful decade and putting on stage numerous theater plays and music programs, we cannot forget the contribution of our loyal audience. Therefore, we would like to thank anyone who, at least once, boarded our ship in Fažana. We hope that you will be there this year as well and celebrate with us the anniversary of an artistic idea that survived for ten years in spite of all forecasts. We would like to thank all the people who sailed with us and to those who will do it this year.”
“The national program of the 57th Pula Film Festival will take place from 17 to 24 July, and the international part will take place from 10 to 24 July 2010.
On the KulTurist press conference, the art director of the Festival, Zlatko Vidačković, exclusively announce the Croatian premiere of the movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus that will take place on 19 July in Pula Amphitheater.
„It is a phantasmagoria of one of the Monty Pyton legends' Terry Gilliam and it is at the same time Heath Ledger's last film. The film was shown for the first time on the Cannes Film Festival last year and it also stars Jude Law, Johnny Depp, Colin Farell, Cristopher Plummer and Tom Waits.“
Nenad Puhovski, founder and director of ZagrebDox presented a summary of this year's and announced the next year's festival: „This year's ZagrebDox was a significant step in the relatively short, but intensive history of the festival. The relocation of the festival to a new location – Movieplex in Centar Kaptol, the number of 25,000 visitors, new programs (Stanje stvari) and new sponsors say a lot about the good and promising development of our festival. For the next year, along with the usual selection of the best documentaries of the recent international production, we are preparing a retrospective of one of the most influential American production companies – Participant Media – that produced successful documentaries such as “An Inconvenient Truth, Darfur Now, Food Inc., Pressure Cooker, Standard Operating Procedure, The Cove”. Moreover, there will also be a special retrospective of “Mondo” films, a retrospective of the Croatian war documentary 1991-95, an artistic evening with Eduard Galić as well as numerous surprises, but it is too early too talk about them now. However, we can reveal the date and place of the festival – 27 February to 6 March 2011, in Movieplex.“
Igor Rakonić, director of Vukovar Film Festival announced a rich and interesting program:
„The fourth Vukovar Film Festival – festival of Danube countries, is to take place from 25 to 29 August 2010. The only film festival on the water will preserve its interesting locations – Dunavski šlep and Ružička's Birthplace Museum. A very lively Danube scene will be represented this year by the best films including the winners of the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, the German-Turkish film Honey and winner of the Silver Bear, the Romanian film If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle. The feature and documentary films from the Danube region, international blockbusters, children's matinees, a retrospective of films from the partner country, the unforgettable screenplay workshop and numerous conferences about the most interesting movie topics, together with daily siestas on the banks of Danube will make this year's festival an unavoidable late-summer place to be for all film fans and those who are to become film fans.“
