Seventeen startups from Croatia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the Idea Knockout business ideas competition held on September 30, organized by Hrvatski Telekom and Bug. They presented their products, services, and business models to a ten-member expert jury chaired by Bojan Mušćet from HT.
After all presentations, the jury evaluated the candidates;in four categories, and the overall results are as follows:
Clockwork Briefcase is an award-winning electronic board game of deactivating a bomb hidden in a suitcase, whose prototype won second place at the 2016 Idea Knockout. This time the game is ready for production, with completely redesigned hardware and device software. All the experiences with the prototype, which was exhibited in 12 cities from six countries, in which it was played by over 2,000 players in over 150 hours of gameplay, were translated into a "polished" product, which, apart from the huge gaming market, proved there is great interest for it in the B2B segment as well.
Winners get a trip for two team representatives to Berlin with the cost of return tickets, accommodation in Berlin, travel insurance and Uber transport within Berlin, and more importantly, an exhibition stand at the part of the fair called IFA Next, where over 350 best startups from around the world will present themselves to hundreds of thousands of visitors.
SportReact is an Internet-of-Things device designed to develop the motor and cognitive abilities of users.
Third place: Wingo
Wingo is a table with integrated heating in its stand, the first of its kind in the world that works on the principle of conductive energy transfer. It saves up to 10x more energy than existing electric heaters, and compared to gas heaters is a more environmentally friendly solution because it does not generate CO2. The primary market is the HORECA group (hotels, restaurants, and cafes), but due to the significant energy savings, it is also interesting for households.
Second and third place winners will get an exclusive opportunity to present themselves at the Bug Future Show 2021.
