Hrvatski Telekom presented today the results of the 6th traditional Together We Are Stronger charity competition in which the employees from all parts of Croatia actively participate. Having recognized the challenges and difficulties of the time that we live in, the HT employees proposed 198 projects from their communities that are trying to help those who need the help the most. The project beneficiaries range from the youngest to the oldest.
A committee comprising employees from all parts of the Company decided on the awarding of funds for the projects and the criteria they had to follow were: the projects must be humanitarian initiatives valuable and important for the society and the projects have to involve, either directly or indirectly, as many users as possible. 27 projects have been chosen to which HT will grant HRK 1 million. The biggest number of the proposed projects was from the area of childcare, work with elderly people, socially endangered groups and groups of people with special needs of different age, and projects related to healthcare and education. This proved that the employees are sensitive to the needs of those who need help the most.
“We are always glad when we can help those who need help the most, especially in these difficult times. For years now, our Company has been confirming that is socially responsible and sensitive by participating in numerous humanitarian campaigns and initiating campaigns like this traditional competition called “Together We Are Stronger”. This competition in particular helped implementation of many valuable projects in local communities that we live and work in. We are especially proud on the fact that this is a joint initiative of the Company and its employees who recognize needs of their local communities and propose projects for funding.
This year, the competition aimed at humanitarian projects, and we will grant support to associations and institutions that are working with children with special needs, invalids, elderly people and those financially impaired,” said Ivica Mudrinić, President of the Management Board of Hrvatski Telekom.
The funds were granted to a range of associations and institutions some of which are: DES, institution for work, employment and professional rehabilitation of invalids, funds for expanding the production activities of the workshop of the Work Center for Invalids; C.O.O. “Juraj Bonači”, funds for the construction of a multipurpose playground and purchase of equipment; Croatian Red Cross, branch office Vinkovci, funds for the support to the project called “Playground for Children in Places Surrounded with Mine Fields”; Catholic Association “Kap dobrote” (Drop of Goodness), funds for the project “Help to Poor and Elderly by Providing Foodstuff”; Association of People Suffering from Dystrophy, Krapina, funds for adjustment of a vehicle for transport of invalids; Home for Grown-Ups Suffering from Mental Diseases “Turnić”, funds for equipment of the Home premises; Down Syndrome Association of Osijek and Baranja County, funds for implementation of a rehabilitation program; County Hospital Čakovec, funds for procurement of the equipment for phototherapy.
