Matej's Graffiti Jam – the best graffiti festival was held yesterday in Zadar harbor (Port). The event, which was the result of enthusiasm of Matej Lulić, a boy from Osijek and passionate graffiti writer, and engagement of T-Mobile, gathered thirty writes who were drawing the graffiti on the special boards installed along the harbor. The graffiti artists were joined by 70 break-dancers, skaters, dance groups and DJs so that the people in Zadar could enjoy the imaginative performances of the representatives of the modern Croatian street art. In order to participate in Matej’s jam, the performers came from all over the Croatia, and besides the writers from Zadar, the graffiti were drawn by writers from Osijek, Slavonski Brod and Zagreb.
Since Matej prepares a signboard exhibition of the ten best graffiti and since the signboards will be displayed all over the Croatia, a large number of people will be able to see them.
The big Zadar Graffiti Jam is a result of a weeks-long effort of Matej Lulić, a high school pupil from Osijek, put into organization of the event, recording of video clips, making the Facebook fan page and collection of applications for the event. It was Matej's wish for a long time to organize the best Jam, and T-Mobile decided to support the event within its innovative marketing campaign for the Summer Option service. Matej succeeded in his intention by help of the T-Mobile campaign, he gathered around hundred urban artists and really held the best Graffiti Jam in Croatia. Matej managed to reduce the organizational costs by using the Summer Option service that enabled him to call, send SMS and MMS to his friends within T-Mobile network at HRK 0.06 during the whole month.
"Graffiti are the most important of life’s least important things in the world to me, and I don’t know what I would do if I did not do graffiti. Organization of a Graffiti Jam this big is my biggest dream come true. I am very satisfied that the people had a great time and that I only hear positive reactions of the people who participated in the event. I would like to thank T-Mobile for providing the support, because without all this could not have been done," said Matej Lulić after closing of the festival.
"We always try to convey the audience our messages about services that we offer in an appealing and simple way. This campaign was a step further, since this is a fresh and original idea in the Croatian media space. It happened for the first time that a real person and a real-life story were used in a marketing campaign. We are exceptionally glad to be able to help Matje and support his idea of the best Graffiti Jam, especially because of the fact that we managed to bring the young and live Croatian urban scene closer to the public," said Vedrana Hercigonja Majetić, Director of the Marketing Communications Department in HT.
All of you who could not be in Zadar on 17 July, will be able to experience a part of the Graffiti Jam atmosphere on Matej's Facebook page (www.matej-grafiti.com).
