With the lecture "12 myths about innovation", from keynote speaker PhD. Miroslav Mađarić from KBC Zagreb, started Combis Conference of the main topic "Exploration. Innovations. ICT.". The fourth business and IT Conference of the systems integrator Combis is intended for the end-users of ICT solutions and services, and is held in Novi Vinodolski from September 16-17.
At the keynote lecture PhD. Mađarić addressed the most common mistakes that occur when we think about innovations, such as those that all innovations are positive, that every innovation requires major changes and investments, that only "big" innovations such as inventions, patents and discoveries are valuable.
One of the myths is also that only an expert can innovate, which keynote speaker disproves in the following way: "Formal education does not necessary correlate with innovation, indeed, it is often that an „expert" is „driving blind" in his area, while the amateur is the one who is not pressured with expertise and therefore more open to new ideas. "
Several times during the presentation there could be heard that an innovation is the task of each employee in the organization and that innovation is not exclusively reserved for managers and development departments, and how innovation does not necessarily apply only to new products and technologies, because the potential for a minor improvement of quality is immeasurable. It was also pointed out that innovation is essential in the public sector as well.
As the most dangerous of all 12 myths, PhD. Mađarić states the prejudice that for innovation is not important favourable social climate. "It is more likely that the environment in which innovation is encouraged will indeed bring out innovations. This creates a culture of innovation within employees, and those who are not innovative they get „excluded“! - concluded Mađarić.
Participants can also expect number of other interesting presentations from Combis experts and the Conference sponsors, as well as case studies of the ICT solutions and services users themselves. The first day of Combis Conference is also reserved for the round table on topic "From innovative potential to innovations" and many other informal events.
