The greatest business value is created by integration of business processes with communication solutions – was the thought which many participants at the Combis Conference 2010 could hear during the presentation "Unified Communications – how to cut costs?". Combis Conference organized by systems integrator Combis is taking place in Novi Vinodolski September 16-17 and is aimed towards the end-users of ICT solutions and services.
The standard explanation of the term Unified Communications implies integration of real-time communication services, such as IP telephony, instant messaging (chat), video conferencing systems, but also non-real-time services, such as e-mail, fax, voicemail and other. Unified Communications is a set of products that provides a consistent unified user interface and user experience across multiple devices and media types. In short, it is about the integration of all mentioned means and ways of communication with the aim of providing faster response and increased availability in communication which consequently enables business improvement and cost reduction.
"If we take the simplest thesis "time is money", we do not need to outline what are the advantages of using Unified Communications solution, especially if we know that so far, for example, systems such as Call Centre, mailing systems, mobile telephones or fax system have been operated as separate islands. With their unification they would form one set of small blocks that would match and complement each other, interaction would be created between them and we would get connected mosaic that allows faster response and greater accessibility." - said Jasmin Baborac, Combis expert for network systems.
This solution is intended for all companies, regardless of their size and industry, and estimated ROI in some situations is less than a year.
"Combis offers diversified solutions under the common name the Unified Communications, for example, contact centre, IP telephony, voicemail management system, video conference systems and similar. However, it is important to note that the prerequisite for unified communications is switching to IP (Internet Protocol) technology." - said Baborac.
