In continuing its traditional support to health care, Hrvatski Telekom has presented today, at the get-together with the representatives of health care institutions, this year’s holiday donation. As in previous years, the donation is intended for emergency medical services. Its total value is HRK 800,000. This year’s holiday donation will be distributed among four institutions – County Hospital Čakovec, Emergency Medical Services Pazin, Health Center Korčula, and Health Center of the Požega-Slavonia County. Each institution will receive HRK 200,000 for the procurement of medical equipment.
At the meeting, the representatives of health care institutions talked with Ivica Mudrinić, President of the Management Board of Hrvatski Telekom, about the current status of health care, the needs of health care institutions, and how they will spend donated funds. Health Center Korčula will use donated funds to buy a medical vehicle for emergency transports, County Hosptial Čakovec plans to buy a portable ventilator for adults and children, while Health Center of the Požega-Slavonia County plans to buy a defibrillator. Emergency Medical Services Pazin will use donated funds to buy the necessary equipment, such as body braces, ventilation balloon, manikins for training, and a new defibrillator.
"By presenting this donation, we want to participate actively in improving the protection and saving of human lives and in increasing the quality of emergency medical services for the well being of everyone. The donation is also a continuation of our traditional support to emergency medical services in holiday times, when humanity and care of others are of greater importance," said Ivica Mudrinić, President of the Management board of Hrvatski Telekom, on the occasion.
"Owing to the complexity of the terrain that we cover and severe accidents where we intervene, we need modern and high-quality medical equipment. The donation of Hrvatski Telekom will allow us to replace obsolete and worn out equipment and will enable our institution to achieve a high level of readiness," said Dr. Ivor Ković, Head of Emergency Medical Services Pazin. The representatives of other institutions joined with their thanks and pointed out the importance of continuous investments in emergency medical services. Also, they emphasized that it was important that large companies such as HT, which can provide support to this sector, had recognized the dedication of employees of emergency medical services.
By this donation, Hrvatski Telekom continues the five-year support to emergency medical services, which started in 2006, led by the idea that efficient communication was frequently crucial in the protection and saving of human lives. The total value of donations that HT so far has granted to emergency medical services is almost HRK 11 million, which also confirms the status of the company, which places a strong emphasis on socially responsible business operations and care of the community in which it operates.
