As part of its traditional donation to emergency medical services, Hrvatski Telekom handed over funds to the Health Center of the Požega-Slavonia County at the press conference held in Požega today. This institution received a donation of HRK 200,000, which was the first one among four donations to be given to institutions all over Croatia. Apart from the Health Center of the Požega-Slavonia County, HRK 200,000 was donated respectively to the County Hospital Čakovec, Emergency Medical Service Pazin, and Health Center Korčula.
The donation of Hrvatski Telekom was received by Darko Puljašić, B.L.L., Head of the Health Center of the Požega-Slavonia County, who said on that occasion: "Taking into account the difficult financial situation in which our institution is, the donation of Hrvatski Telekom is of immense importance. These funds enabled us to purchase a defibrillator for emergency cases, which will considerably increase the standard of health protection of the population in our county. We thank HT for recognizing the problems of this sector and for providing the necessary support, so we could help people who need our help in a high-quality and fast way.”
When handing over the donation on behalf of Hrvatski Telekom, Hrvoje Farkaš, Senior Manager for Business Sales, reminded that the company started providing support to emergency medical services in 2006 with the aim of direct participation in the improvement of health and saving of human lives and increasing the quality of health protection. Ferdinand Troha, Deputy County Head for Social Affairs of the Požega-Slavonia County, also took part in the press conference, confirming the importance of this donation for a wider community.
HT started providing support to emergency medical services five years ago, led by the idea that fast and efficient communication was frequently crucial in the saving of human lives. Emergency medical services were selected as the recipient of the donation because of their general significance for both the society as a whole and individuals, regardless of their age, gender, place of residence, or social status. The total value of donations that HT so far has granted to emergency medical services is almost HRK 11 million, which also confirms the status of the company that places a strong emphasis on socially responsible business operations and care of the community in which it operates
