For the fourth successive year, the portal www.tportal.hr organizes the literary award roman@tportal.hr for the best Croatian novel published in the previous year. Eligible novels are written in Croatian and were published in 2010 – in the period from 1 January 2010 to 31 December 2010. The award winner will receive the valuable prize amounting to HRK 100,000. Entries can be submitted in the period from 7 March 2011 until 20 March 2011.
Novels can be entered either by publishers or by authors, via the online form available on the award official page: roman.tportal.hr which includes all relevant documents such as the literary award Statute and Regulations and the instructions for participation. Texts written by jury members will soon be posted on the above page, as well as news related to the selection of the best novel and interviews with the authors.
Novels that have already won literary awards can also be entered in the competition. All authors or publishers of novels written in Croatian and published by Croatian publishing companies during 2010 are eligible for entry.
The decision on the winner of the competition will be made by the jury consisting of independent literature experts, this year with the following composition: Tomislav Brlek (president of the jury), Gordan Duhaček, Ana Grbac, Katarina Luketić, Igor Mandić, Miroslav Mićanović and Jadranka Pintarić.
The literary award roman@tportal.hr is the most lucrative Croatian literary award which was launched in 2008 with the aim of evaluating novels according to the expert criteria. It is also the first literary competition in Croatia for selecting the best Croatian novel.
Every year, the jury for roman@tportal.hr literary award consists of people who professionally study and evaluate literature - literature teachers, literary critics, editors and writers. The jury participates in the project by evaluating and selecting the best novel and by publishing texts about literature. All this will be available to tportal readers and visitors of the Facebook page roman@tportal.hr.
So far, roman@tportal.hr award has been won by three writers. Last year, the major prize went to Sibila Petlevski for her novel “Vrijeme laži” (The Time of Lies, publisher Fraktura, 2009), while a year ago the prize went to Drago Glamuzina for the novel “Tri” (Three, publisher Profil, 2008) and two years ago to Dalibor Šimpraga for the novel “Anastazija” (Durieux, 2007).
