Regional systems integrator Combis, in cooperation with partner, IBM Croatia, and under the media sponsorship of Mreža magazine, organised third Combis Government Day where business-technology solutions for public sector were presented.
Combis has anent to Combis Government Day conducted research among participants and among over 1000 visitors of web portal 'BUG on line' asking them about the priorities of public sector for 2013. „It was interesting to discover similarities and differences in opinions between questioners. For example, Government Day participants as a top priority choose improvement of business processes, while for the readers of BUG portal most important priority was data infrastructure consolidation“, said Perica Šandić, Combis' sales manager for public sector.
Modernisation of the existing IT resources and more quality accessibility of public services in both researches rate very high and are among first three priorities. „These results at first sight bring us to the conclusion that we all think alike which is good, since it shows we agree on the goals and directions we are heading to. Therefore, today we present topics already recognised from Croatian IT community as priorities for 2013, but also highly applicable precisely in public sector“, commented Šandić.
In the opening presentation of the poll results, along with Perica Šandić, spoke Miroslav Mađarić from KBC Zagreb, as one of the leading experts in the important segment of public services – health. „From the summary results we see that the end users show larger interest for IT than ICT professionals from public sector who gave higher advantage to the technology. The results imply the need for altering „the state of mind“ in public sector which is a demanding task. Here ICT can help on the first step – in orientation towards transparency and integration in public institutions“, said Mađarić and suggested concrete steps: „It is necessary to ensure e-services which will be based upon two simple principles: to make public sector's work entirely public on the Internet and that public services share and use all the information citizens require.“
During Combis Government Day precisely those solutions which create prerequisites for transparency and efficient coordination of organisations were presented, like for example, solutions for process automation and systems and data security and protection. Among other, the advantages of Cloud technologies were presented, the experiences from Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts during the integration of central register for incentives and grants with other public administration systems were discussed and there was also word about best practices from IBM in the region regarding the usage of EU funds.
