Hrvatski Telekom continues this year with the successful humanitarian competition Together we are stronger, through which for the eighth consecutive year, funds are donated for projects of special importance to the community.
Through the initiative in the past seven years HT supported 211 exceptional humanitarian projects. The total value of grants is more than 6, 5 million kuna in the field of education of children and youth, health, care for the elderly and disabled, humanitarian action and ecology. Until this year, the project was internal and employees of the HT Group applied valuable projects from their local communities. This year the competition is for the first time open to the public with the aim of collecting more quality projects.
540,000 kunas will be donated to organizations and institutions to realize the initiatives of importance for the local community. The competition has three categories, and each is assigned a total amount of 180 thousand.
Categories of this year competition are:
- Connected life and work – includes projects that apply modern technologies in life and work
- Connect the unconnected – is about projects that improve quality of life and enable inclusion and equal opportunities for everybody
- Low carbon society – eco projects that contribute to environmental protection.
The expert jury, whose members are representatives of HT and established non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations, UNICEF, UNDP, Transparency International and Centar za zapošljavanje osoba s invaliditetom grada Vukovara selects the initial 36 projects that are then evaluated by all employees of HT.
After employees vote and choose 18 favorites they will be presented to the public on the official website of the project Together we are stronger at www.zajednosmojaci.hr and on Facebook's page and all Facebook users as well as everyone with internet access will have a chance to support the best projects with their votes.
All interested organizations and institutions can apply their projects until Sunday, 30 June 2013. The public will be able to vote online between August 2 and 31, 2013 and the results of the competition will be announced on Monday, September 2.
